A Conservation Order Permit is the only permit required, unless exempt. Currently all hunting Units are at full pool elevations and ice covered. Snow geese began arriving on area February 3.

Area Hunt Procedures Pools 1,2,6,7,8 and 9 are refuge. Hunters are required to obtain a Daily Waterfowl Hunting Tag prior to hunting and return harvest cards at the completion of their hunt. Daily tags are located in the hunter check-in room on the north side of the headquarters building.

Snow goose use on the area is sporadic and variable from one day to the next, they have occasionally been on the area, mainly Pool 1 refuge, this past week.

Area Hunt Procedures Area is CLOSED to snow goose hunting due to baiting. Area staff decided to mow standing corn to provide high quality food for all migrating waterfowl and increase wildlife viewing opportunities. The area will remain closed throughout the conservation order.
